Dave Vrioni Eastek International President and COO

PRESIDENT & COO

DAVE VRIONI became President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Eastek effective on April 19, 2019.  In this role, Dave has responsibility for managing all functions of Eastek and its subsidiary companies.  Dave previously worked on the management team of Eastek in 2005-2006 and then for other companies of our majority shareholder, including 11 years as the General Manager of ProBuilt Professional Lighting (formerly known as “Peterson Brands”), where he led the business in significant growth through new product development   and market expansion. Prior to that, Dave gained extensive experience in manufacturing, quality, product management and continuous improvement with several large, global companies including GE Plastics.  He has been heavily involved in both selling products to China as well as sourcing China-manufactured products and services for the past 20 years. 

Dave graduated from Iowa State University in 1988 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and received Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from Motorola University in 2003.  He lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife and five children.

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

KRIS FUNK oversees the finance and accounting functions at Eastek, where she has been a team member for the last six years. She thrives in the flat organizational structure as she believes it allows the company to make decisions quickly and promotes teamwork that actively provides supports Eastek’s customers’ needs. Her observation of the organization is that everyone in the company knows the president personally, which she believes says a lot about the culture.

She has a deep finance background serving over 10 years in the food industry, then transitioning to organizations in aerospace, government and automotive. Her wide range of finance experience from small family owned businesses to publically owned companies has positioned Kris well within Eastek. This experience allows her to have the flexibility of a smaller organization, with the financial rigor expected of a public company.

Kris graduated in 1983, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. in Accounting. Later, she continued her education and received a Master’s in Business Administration also from the University of Cincinnati in 1988. Kris and her husband have a grown family in the greater Chicago area.

CORPORATE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER

GEORGE ASHOURI has spent the past 21 years in a variety of design & manufacturing companies and a range of engineering roles. He is currently Corporate Technology Engineer for Eastek International. In this role, George is responsible for the initial project engineering of all products undertaken by Eastek and its sister businesses in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China. At the factory in the PRC, George provides technical leadership to the Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Purchasing departments. He is a critical liaison between U.S. and Asian operations and a key member of the senior management team.

George has received a Master’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1987 and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northern Illinois University in 1984.

VICE PRESIDENT OF MANUFACTURING & MANAGING DIRECTOR (CHINA)

Mr. Jeffrey Li was appointed Vice President of Eastek Asia Manufacturing in January 2011 and he started as General Manager of Preo Industries Far East Ltd, subsidiary to Eastek Holdings in January 2006.  His primary responsibility is to daily manage all operations of our Hong Kong office and Dongguan Manufacturing campus.   With his team of over 700, he strives to manufacture and deliver products on time to customers with high and consistent quality at reasonable and competitive prices. 

Prior to leading Preo, Mr. Li was Chief Operations Officer of Nexus Mobile Co., Ltd., Hong Kong from 2002 to 2005.  In this role, he managed an organization of over 600 in the rapid development and market introduction of mobile phones.  His responsibilities included purchasing, manufacturing, sales support and after sales service.

From 1987 to 2001, he worked at Shenzhen JinXin Petrochemical & Electronic Instrument Co. (a joint venture), starting as project manager and rising to the rank of Factory General Manager in 1999.   Early in his career, he served in the ShenYang Mechanical Bureau, Liaoning, China as Equipment & Safety Management officer (Government officer) from 1982 to 1984 and again in 1987.  He has experience in manufacturing operations which have produced mobile telephones, CD players, VCD players, pagers and computer monitors.

Mr. Li was a member and economist of Shenzhen Professional Examination and Evaluation Committee in 1988. He is a qualified China Senior Accountant, and has a good understanding of GAAP of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and the United States. 

Mr. Li holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Shenyang Chemical Institute of Technology.  Mr. Li earned a spot in the first graduate student exchange under the Reagan Administration which culminated in an  MBA from State University of New York at Buffalo.

He has comprehensive first hand experience of factory operations and good written and spoken English skills, as well as excellent Chinese language writing ability.  He is a team player with strong people management skills and is married with one daughter.

VICE PRESIDENT OF SUPPLY CHAIN

DALJIT SABHARWAL is a seasoned procurement and material management professional with an engineering degree and more than 20 years of proven track record in managing the global supply chain for electronic components, metal stampings, extrusions, resins, wires, hardware and packaging materials. As Vice President of Supply Chain at Eastek for the last four and a half years, Daljit is responsible for developing relationships with vendors, negotiating and setting up global supply chain solutions support Eastek’s business model to reduce costs and ensure timely delivery of materials.

Because of this expertise, Eastek recently recorded 94% material on time delivery [80% for Electronics assemblies and 99% for Plastic assemblies] in 2010 which was a difficult year from a material availability point of view due to worldwide shortages. In addition, he has helped improve relationships with vendors, manufacturer representatives and manufacturers that resulted in setting up one of the first In-Plant Store (IPS)/Consignment warehouse by ASKEW in Buffalo Grove, IL along with a contract from a US company for another In-Plant Store planned for early 2011.

Before joining Eastek, Daljit worked as Vice President of Purchasing with Autotech Technologies gaining valuable experience in strategic sourcing, purchasing, negotiating, quoting, contract administration and business management skills while managing US$ 25 million supply chain for 3 OEMs and 5 CEMs facilities. Prior to that, he worked for All American Semiconductors as Regional Supply Chain Manager providing valuable experience in setting up Supply Chain Solutions (VMIs/KANBAN/In-Plant Stores) for some fortune 500 companies and also provided him insight into the wide array of distributors/ manufacturer representatives/ manufacturers.

VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING

BILL BOYER joined of the Eastek management team with the acquisition of Automated Circuit Technologies in November 2013.  He served as the Vice President of Operations for our US manufacturing sites in Lake Zurich, IL and our US based circuit board and higher level assembly operation, Eastek Automated Circuit Technologies, through 2017.  Today Bill has taken the role of VP, Engineering for the overall company.  Bill strives to build strong, trust-based relationships with his customers and believes in a team-based approach to solving customer problems.

Bill started his 30+ year circuit board assembly career as a Co-op student at Marquette Electronics Inc. During his 14-year career at Marquette, he began as a machine operator and increased his responsibility to include scheduling and planning. He progressed to Process Engineer where he reduced circuit board assembly machine setup time and specialized in manufacturability of circuit boards assemblies for new products in addition to being responsible for identifying equipment needs and implementing capital investments.

Bill then took a Production Manager role with Assembly Services Inc. in 1995 and purchased the assets of Assembly Services, forming Automated Circuit Technology (ACT), Inc in 1999. He has served as President for the past 15 years. Under Bill’s leadership, ACT has achieved ISO Certifications 9001:2008 and 13485 while tripling sales from 1999 through 2013. In November 2013, ACT merged with Eastek to expand the total customer solution services.

Bill lives in the West Bend, WI area with his wife Kelly, an SMTA member. In addition, when Bill is not working, he is a car enthusiast.

DIRECTOR OF SALES

PETE STAMATAKOS joined Eastek upon graduation from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has a held a series of Sales and Business Development roles in the subsequent 15 years, with increasing responsibility. In 2014, Pete was promoted to Director, North American Sales for Eastek International. In this role, Pete is responsible for lead generation and account development for all customers based in North America which receive product either from our China or US manufacturing centers. Pete has 5 Business Development Managers and Eastek’s only Sales Representative Agency reporting to him. In total, he is responsible for over $50M in annual sales.

Pete has been Eastek’s longest-serving Business Development Manager and has been part of Eastek growth from $10M in sales in 2000 to over $65M in 2014, beginning as an inside sales account representative and then taking on ever increasing responsibilities.

Pete is well respected and is a highly regarded executive business leader with key strengths in professional team development and sales management along with demonstrated successes in identifying and winning new business opportunities.

Show Pete a product opportunity and he can quickly assess if and how Eastek can add value with supply chain management, engineering resources and design for manufacturability related solutions. He has been part of over 200 product launches ranging from satellite TV plastic housings to industrial kitchen oven controllers to boiler management printed circuit board assemblies to medical devices. He is well versed with many of our major customers given his tenure with Eastek.

Born in the USA, Pete spent his childhood living in Greece and is fluent in Greek and proud of his family’s culture. Pete is a longtime Chicago resident. He is based at our Lake Zurich, Illinois headquarters and supports customers himself and through the sales staff which are located in California, Illinois, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Kentucky.

Gilles Antoine Eastek International

CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER

GILLES ANTOINE joined Eastek in 2018 and is located at Lake Zurich, IL facility. In this new position, Gilles is responsible for standardizing our business process as it relates to Program Management of all customers. The goal is to create a repeatable, measurable and expanding framework of how to best manage our customers from quotation, to product end of life while drawing from previous and current Eastek success stories and not so successful experiences.


Gilles has an extensive background in Operations management across a variety of industries that started with Textile manufacturing in the Carolinas to Fertilizer processing and mining in Central Florida, and Electronics manufacturing and sourcing in South Florida. Gilles just spent the last 10 years running a Garment manufacturing facility in Haiti with over 2,000 employees, manufacturing for brands like Hanes, Gildan, Carters, and LAT. He will be able to draw from this diverse background that had him working for Fortune 500 companies and Family owned businesses to align Eastek’s strong belief that “it is what our people do which matters most to our growing and sophisticated customer base”.


Gilles earned his Bachelors in Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. His wife and two teenagers made the big move with him from the Caribbean to very welcoming community of Lake Zurich this past summer.

Juanita Martinez Eastek International

VP OF QUALITY ASSURANCE

JUANITA MARTINEZ has been involved in the Quality field for more than 22 years. She started her career working for 3M Touch Systems where she began to gain expertise and knowledge in the electronics industry. After 3M, she came to work for Eastek International and has been a part of the Eastek Quality Systems team representing all sites in US and in China for the last 12 years.


Juanita is very involved with the creation and training of many of Eastek’s internal programs such as FDA/QMS, CAPA and GDP; each is offered in an inter-active, multi-lingual setting. She also leads the Eastek International Internal Audit program, which includes members from all facilities that interact and participate to ensure all sites’ QMS are aligned and to ensure we consistently meet the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and FDA Medical Device 21 CFR 820.


Juanita graduated with high honors from Waukesha Technical College and Gateway Technical College with degrees in Management Development and Sales & Marketing.

Kevin Grob Eastek Automated Circuit Technologies

SITE LEADER

KEVIN GROB oversees all day-to-day operations for the Eastek ACT division in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Kevin joined the Eastek team in the spring of 2018. Kevin brings with him 15 years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Industry. He has worked for large, publicly traded electronics organizations as well as smaller family-owned electronics companies. Kevin has stated, “Eastek is the perfect balance that can provide our customers international advantages, but we still have a family-owned feel that allows us to build great relationships with our customers. You’re not just simply another customer within our organization.”


Kevin has a B.S. in Manufacturing Management from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Kevin and his wife, Brittany, have two young sons and live in the Milwaukee area. When not with his family, Kevin enjoys hiking, hunting, and photography.

CHAIRMAN OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE & CEO

Robert Gerth (Bob) became Chairman of the Executive Committee of Eastek effective on April 19, 2019 and became CEO in August of 2019. In this role, Bob has responsibility for overseeing the senior management team and setting the strategic direction of the company. Bob previously worked for the majority shareholder of Eastek from 2007 through 2018 as the owner of ProBuilt Professional Lighting (formerly known as “Peterson Brands”), where he worked closely with Dave Vrioni on strategic direction of that business. Prior to that, Bob has been involved with over 20 different industrial service and manufacturing businesses as a senior member of management, director and owner. Bob has been involved in building and motivating highly successful management teams while maintaining strong ties to the financial community.
Bob graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1981 with a degree in Accounting and holds his CPA in Illinois. After graduation he worked at one of Deloitte’s predecessors and a number of highly acquisitive companies, including one he co-founded, Cypress Partners, Inc. He lives in the western suburbs of Chicago with his lovely wife and has four daughters.
